Komen er 3 Han Solo films aan?

Er is zojuist een merkwaardig gerucht op het internet verschenen. Volgens verschillende bronnen zou Disney een contract hebben gesloten met Alden Ehrenreich, de man die op Celebration werd aangekondigd voor de rol van Han Solo  in een spin-off film, voor maar liefst 3 films.

Hoewel het bekend was dat er één spin-off film zou komen over Han Solo, is dit gerucht over 2 extra films toch wat onverwacht. Met 3 films zou Han Solo namelijk zijn eigen trilogie krijgen die toch wat uitgebreider is dan die ene spin-off die men had verwacht.

Toch blijkt Disney veel vertrouwen te hebben in Ehrenreich na de positieve reacties van fans over de keuze voor deze acteur. Een bron binnen NY Daily News zei het volgende:

"There is a real sense of excitement around the Han Solo movie and its potential. Given that Han's early adventures do not need to be tied to the Empire, it leaves story lines open with the opportunity to really give fans something different.

They can explore new galaxies and crazy creatures and bring in a wide array of new characters.

They feel that his character has the right potential to become a central figure in several movies. They're keeping things under wraps at the moment, but the deal is that he has signed for at least three movies."

Ondanks al het vertrouwen zou Disney zich nog wel indekken. Alles hangt namelijk af van het succes van de eerste Han Solo spin-off, die na episode VIII zou moeten verschijnen. Maar het schijnt dat dat wel goed zit. Volgens een The Force Awakens concept artist zou het Han Solo spin-off script 'by far the best Star Wars script' zijn.
